The newly-formed IASEAI is an independent charitable organization with the mission to ensure that AI systems are guaranteed to operate safely and ethically; and to shape policy, promote research, and build understanding and community around this goal.

There is no cost to attend this conference and attendance is by invitation, based on responses to a brief form asking for a statement of interest or an abstract of a proposed talk or poster. (This initial conference will not include papers or proceedings.) The conference is planned for around 600 attendees.

As of December 4, we are no longer accepting applications to attend IASEAI '25.

IASEAI brings together a global community of individuals working in academia, industry, government, and civil society. Its roles are to

  • Provide Guidance: Analyze AI-related policy issues and advise governments and civil society.
  • Foster Community: Build community through annual conferences, multiple workshops, networking opportunities, and special-interest groups.
  • Advance Knowledge: Support relevant research through graduate fellowships, early-career faculty awards, and seed grants for new centers.
  • Promote Awareness and Understanding: Address a wide range of audiences and geographies through course development, website content, an expert speakers bureau, and media placement.
