Joseph Stiglitz is University Professor at Columbia University, chief economist at the Roosevelt Institute, and co-chair of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development’s High-Level Expert Group on the Measurement of Economic Performance and Social Progress. A Nobel laureate in economics (2001), his research explores income distribution, globalization and public policy, with recent focus on the economic implications of artificial intelligence. Stiglitz emphasizes the risks AI poses to labor markets, workers’ bargaining power, and economic equality, while advocating for regulatory frameworks to address data privacy, corporate accountability, and wealth concentration in tech monopolies.
