Lindsay Sanneman is an assistant professor in the School of Computing and Augmented Intelligence (SCAI) at Arizona State University. Her research focuses on the development of models, metrics, and algorithms for explainable AI (XAI) and AI alignment in complex human-autonomy interaction settings. Prior to joining ASU, she was a postdoctoral associate in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics and a member of the Interactive Robotics Group in the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL). At MIT, Sanneman was a member of the Work of the Future task force and visited more than 50 factories worldwide, alongside an interdisciplinary team of social scientists and engineers, in order to study the adoption of robotics and AI in manufacturing. She has also been selected as a Future Leader in Aerospace, a Siegel Research Fellow, and is a member of the Fellowship at Auschwitz for the Study of Professional Ethics. She has presented her work in diverse venues, including the Industry Studies Association, the Federal Aviation Administration, and the U.N. Department of Economic and Social Affairs.
