Zico Kolter

Zico Kolter is a professor and the director of the Machine Learning Department at Carnegie Mellon University. His work spans several topics in machine learning and optimization, including work in AI safety and robustness, LLM security, the impact of data on models, implicit models and more. He is a recipient of the Young Faculty Award from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and a Sloan Fellowship. His work has received best-paper awards at the Neural Information Processing Systems (NeurIPS) conference; the International Conference on Machine Learning (honorable mention); the International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Statistics (AISTATS) (Test of Time Award); the International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence (IJCAI); the Association for Computing Machinery SIGKDD International Conference on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining; and the Power & Energy Society General Meeting (PESGM).
